Like all other adventures an occupation need not be a lifelong commitment; it should not be thought of as drudgery, but rather an opportunity to develop perspective not possible to gain through recreation. One’s vocation is neither a purpose nor an identity, it is simply an opportunity to be exploited or wasted.
