Everything is an emergent phenomenon. One molecule of water doesn't give you wetness, wetness is emergent from lots of water molecules. One hydrogen atom doesn't give you anything water-like. In reverse this means: don't look too close, or you will lose sight of the meaning of things, even if you can get to the mechanics of them.
