We tend to want to arrange engagements in favor of our strengths and are surprised at push back from those who do not share those strengths. E.g. working towards making an organization a meritocracy by some definition for which one is well suited; some organization members may be incentivized to work against this goal if they are not similarly positioned.

What do you do?
I'm part of a multidisciplinary team working on mine-hoist control systems. My day-to-day work entails a blend of industrial automation and electrical engineering design, with some exposure to functional safety as well.
Why?
I deeply believe we should work to accelerate industrial progress to realize a future of abundant materials and energy.
