“Rather than total income or hourly income, use the "income energy product" (https://shorturl.at/miUFo) to determine if something is worth doing: multiply total income from a project/job by the percentage of energy you have left at the end of the day after doing it. Note that in the rare case that percentage can actually be greater than 100% – if the work energizes you more than it drains you.”

What do you do?
I find creative applications of AI and other technologies to make people happier and perform at a higher level, and I write and talk about the importance of time off and having a rest ethic.
Why?
I create because it gives me a deep sense of satisfaction. When I work on something I really care about, it feels like I'm a kid on a playground. My best and most impactful projects were always those were I followed that feeling, rather than thinking what "users" or "the market" want.
What should we read?
Non-fiction: Range by David Epstein; Fiction: The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson
