Taste is the last unfair advantage. You can copy a feature. You can replicate a UI. You can prompt an AI to write your copy, generate your logo, scaffold your app. And the output will be fine. Competent. Forgettable. What you can't copy is taste. It's not a skill you learn. It's a residue of everything you've seen, made, hated, loved, and lived through. It's a fingerprint. No two are the same. In a world where AI can produce anything, the only thing that separates good work from noise is whether someone with a point of view made a deliberate choice. What to keep. What to cut. What feels right. That's taste. And it's the one thing that can't be prompted.

What do you do?

I build things. Full products, end to end. 15+ years of engineering across Slack, Microsoft, and a handful of ventures I started myself.

Why?

There's a version of me that would say something about impact, or building for users, or solving problems that matter. All true. But that's not really why. I build things because I get an idea and it won't leave me alone until I've at least tried it. And then I ship it, and someone uses it the way I imagined it - not a million people, maybe fifty and that feeling doesn't really have a name but it's the whole point.
